Digitalisation is helping us in many areas – and this transformation is now also gaining momentum in healthcare. With HCI Solutions as its expert partner, Galenica is actively committed to launching digital solutions such as e-prescriptions and is helping to shape their development.
With the current revision of the Therapeutic Products Act, the Federal Council wants to promote digitalisation in the treatment process and thus increase medication safety. The plan is that medical prescriptions will have to be issued and filled electronically in the future. Electronic prescriptions are a key component on the path to e-medication.
How digitalisation is becoming a model for success
Galenica is actively committed to finding solutions for a digitalised prescription process in the healthcare industry. “At Galenica, we have set ourselves the goal of improving connectivity in healthcare,” emphasises CEO Marc Werner. E-prescriptions are far more than just another digital process: “They are a real lever – for greater safety, greater efficiency and a connected healthcare system.”
At a roundtable initiated by Galenica in autumn 2025, numerous interest groups from the healthcare sector, politics and IT discussed specific steps to promote e-prescriptions. There was agreement that a nationwide rollout would only be possible through coordinated collaboration and integration into the IT systems of physicians, hospitals and pharmacies.

Data specialist HCI Solutions contributes its many years of experience in the secure digital networking of service providers and ensures that digital solutions such as e-prescriptions are technically sound, user-centric and can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems. “Digitalisation is not something that will become a topic at some point in the future – it is a topic right now,” stresses Marc Werner. “And it is our role as key players to take responsibility for solutions that work.”
