Unione Farmaceutica Distribuzione (UFD) has been a key player in the Ticino healthcare system for 95 years. A lot has changed over the years, but the core of the company remains the same: its strong roots in the region and its commitment to quality.
Almost 100 years ago, several pharmacists stated their aim to ensure the supply of medicines to the people of Ticino. They made their wish a reality in 1931. Together, they founded the purchasing group Unione Farmaceutica Distribuzione SA (UFD) and opened their first warehouse in Lugano-Molino Nuovo. Numerous milestones were reached in the following decades. “Over the years, the company has always understood how to recognise the changes in the regional market, identify customer needs and translate these into concrete solutions – also thanks to stable and reliable partnerships,” says CEO Daniele Graziano.
Committed to customer satisfaction
UFD has been part of the Galenica Group since 2007 and is integrated into the Wholesale & Logistics division. The company is the market leader in pharmaceutical wholesale and healthcare logistics in Ticino. It also offers a wide range of services such as logistics, additional services and e-commerce solutions that are essential for the operation of pharmacies. The E>Box®, for example, offers a specific logistics solution for online shops in the over-the-counter range. It supports the efficient processing of orders and helps to unlock additional market potential in online retail.
